The Capacity Building Days

After the successful cooperation in 2018 in organizing the Future is Heritage summit in Berlin, Erfgoed Brabant, Erfgoed Gelderland and Europa Nostra decided to work together once more and organize a follow-up conference in 2019. This time, the Future is Heritage organised a work conference together with the partners: The Capacity Building Days. The Capacity Building Days was a working conference on youth participation in European heritage management. During the conference participants followed a programme that focused on interregional exchange and ways to improve opportunities for young people who are active in the European heritage field.
The event, that took place from June 17th till 20th in Athens, Greece, had multiple theme tracks incorporated in the programme that participants could follow for 3 days. These theme tracks consisted of workshops, discussions and excursions to fascinating heritage sites in and outside of Athens. The theme tracks were:

Contested heritage
During the programme, The Future is Heritage and their partners simulated interaction & cooperation to form and expand a Europe-wide network of young heritage professionals, students and volunteers.
